國防部新聞發言人任國強表示，10月12日，中印兩軍在楚舒勒舉行第七輪軍長級會談。經雙方協商，共同發布聯合新聞稿，如下：雙方重點圍繞兩國一線部隊在中印邊界西段實控線地區脫離接觸坦誠、深入和建設性地交換了意見。雙方認為本輪會談是積極和建設性的，增進了對彼此立場的相互理解。雙方同意繼續通過軍事和外交渠道保持對話溝通，盡快就脫離接觸達成雙方都能接受的解決辦法。雙方同意認真落實兩國領導人達成的重要共識，不讓分歧上升為爭端，共同維護邊境地區的和平與安寧。
Defence ministry spokesman Senior Colonel Ren Guoqiang said，on 12 October, the 7th round of Senior Commanders meeting of India and China was held in Chushul. The two sides had a sincere, in-depth and constructive exchange of views on disengagement along the Line of Actual Control in the Western Sector of India-China border areas. They were of the view that these discussions were positive, constructive and had enhanced understanding of each other’s positions. Both sides agreed to maintain dialogue and communication through military and diplomatic channels, and arrive at a mutually acceptable solution for disengagement as early as possible. Both sides agreed to earnestly implement the important understandings reached by the leaders of the two countries, not to turn differences into disputes, and jointly safeguard peace and tranquility in the border areas.
